2Kg ABC Powder Fire Extinguisher are typically multipurpose fire extinguishers, suitable for Class A, B, C and electrical fires, making them popular for residential and commercial applications. We currently stock various sizes, ranging from 1Kg, 2Kgs, 4Kgs, 6Kgs, and 9Kgs. Our powder fire extinguishers conform to BS EN3; thus, they are manufactured with a red body and have a blue label with the name powder written on it.

Suitable Fire Classes

  • Class A Fires: Powder extinguishers can handle fires involving ordinary burning materials, such as wood, paper, cloth, rubber, coal and many plastics.
  • Class B Fires: Powder Extinguishers are effective against flammable liquid fires, i.e. Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene, and other petroleum-based products.
  • Class C Fires: Powder Extinguishers can be used against flammable gas fires, i.e. Methane, Propane, Hydrogen, Natural Gas.
  • Electrical Fires: Powder Extinguishers can be used against electrical fires, i.e. Fuse boxes, electrical heaters.

How to properly use an 2Kg ABC Powder Fire Extinguisher

Before using the powder fire extinguisher, it is crucial to check whether the safety pin is not bent and the indicator on the gauge shows it is fully charged (The arrow should point to the area with a green color).

  • Solid Materials: Pull the pin to break the seal, Aim the hose at the base of the fire, squeeze the handle to discharge the powder, Sweep the nozzle from side to side while aiming at the base of the fire.
  • Flammable Liquids: Pull the pin to break the seal, Aim the hose at the closest end of the fire, squeeze the handle to discharge the powder, spray the fire towards the furthest edge until the fire is put out.
  • Burning Gas: Switch off the gas supply, Pull the pin to break the seal, Aim the hose at the gas flare, squeeze the handle to discharge the powder, Continue until the fire is put out.
  • Electrical Equipment: If it is safe switch off the power, Pull the pin to break the seal, Aim the hose directly at the fire, squeeze the handle to discharge the powder, Continue until the fire is extinguished.

Note: Powder from the fire extinguisher can be inhaled and cause poor visibility thus be cautious while using it in an closed space. Re-ignition is possible with powder extinguishers thus be keen to ensure the fire is fully extinguished. After using the powder fire extinguisher inspect it and recharge as needed.
